Part of a master plan to be implemented over several project phases. With an area of 3,800 m², the building volume is defined by an L-shaped extension on the south and east sides of the existing cheese warehouse. Three connecting bridges with separate flows of goods and people enable optimal hygienic processes in the expanded cheese production hall, which is well-lit by extensive glazing on the outer facade. The new ripening warehouse, eight meters high, incorporates a suspended maintenance walkway from the ceiling and accommodates shelving systems for the fully automated storage and retrieval of cheese wheels using robots. The facade design, with a perforated trapezoidal profile sheet, adheres to the corporate design of all the new buildings previously completed by Bergmilch Südtirol.
